"Joy Is Complete" by Helen Kester
April 12, 2015
I John 1:1-2:2
Love of God is complete in fellowship

and sharing with others.

Rev. Helen M. Kester

I am a mother, grandmother, aunt, wife and pastor.  I spent thirty years teaching in inner city public schools.  Ninety percent of the children I taught came from home that were below the poverty level.   The stresses and strain of always trying to make ends meet took a toll on families and children.  It became evident to me that the answers to the deep needs of people will never be met through government assistance programs.  It is our churches and communities of faith that are best suited to changing people's lives for the better.  There is a deep craving to be loved and to belong.  The message of the gospel is that we are loved and we do belong to the family of God.  Small churches are in a unique and privileged place to answer the needs one person and one relationship at a time.
